The Esthene Dental Centre is committed to ongoing professional development and technological updates to ensure that all our services, techniques, and tools afford our patients the very latest in industry innovations and technologies.
This includes, but is not limited to, the use of the following tools and treatments:
The Esthene Dental Centre is 100% committed to offering the very best dental care for our patients. The first step? Quick, stress-free, painless, effective diagnosis of any oral issues that exist.
Which is why at The Esthene Dental Centre, we use the CariVu to detect caries (decay and crumbling) and cracks in your teeth.
Caries detection has historically relied on three key methods: visual inspection, physical exploration (i.e., poking around!), and radiographs. Today, thanks to major technological advancements and innovative tools within the dental industry, like the CariVu, we can reduce physical discomfort even more.
Our use of the CariVu allows us to “see through” a tooth’s structure using transillumination technology and no ionizing radiation, thus discovering decay and cracks with minimal physical intervention and discomfort at the diagnosis stage. This not only improves the diagnostic process physically; it improves diagnostic certainty; creates easy-to-read images which increases patient understanding and acceptance of the diagnosis; and is a safe, non-ionizing alternative to harmful radiation, making it a great solution for children, pregnant women, medically compromised patients, or any patient who is not comfortable with X-rays.
A compact, portable caries detection device that uses unique, patented transillumination technology to detect a range of carious lesions (occlusal, interproximal, secondary/recurrent) and cracks, the CariVu, is the latest generation of transillumination technology. It is a brilliant, non-invasive way to discover caries and cracks.
In keeping with moving away from traditional X-rays and radiation, at The Esthene Dental Centre we also make use of digital X-rays to provide improved comfort during mouth X-rays, along with less cranial exposure to radiation.
Digital X-rays mean that patients are subjected to around 70% less exposure to radiation than conventional X-rays. It makes sense then that digital X-rays are also more environmentally friendly.
Digital X-rays also produce larger and clearer photos allowing our dentists to better discover hard-to-see cavities. The resulting images are also easily stored on a computer and transferred to different dentists or orthodontists for referrals.
Root canal therapy has gone high-tech recently, making the procedure as easy and stress- and pain-free as possible for both patients and dentists!
Root canal treatment has long had a reputation for being particularly arduous, with many patients fearful of the procedure. At The Esthene Dental Centre, this really no longer need be the case!
Using the very latest in treatments and technologies, our dentists make use of Endodontic treatment to deal with root canal problems. This new, minimally invasive procedure dramatically increases disinfection of the entire root canal system, much more quickly, thereby also dramatically improving the success of the procedure and comfort for our patients.
With modern dental instruments and advanced techniques like these in place in our offices, our fully trained and qualified dentists have more resources than ever to complete successful root canals. Even more importantly, our patients can now often have the procedure done in just one visit – virtually pain-free!
Panoramic X-rays mean that our Esthene Dental Centre experts are able to easily look for problems – such as bone abnormalities and fractures, cysts, impacted teeth, infections, and tumors – much more quickly.
Panoramic X-rays offer a much faster, simpler process than traditional X-rays, with the panoramic technique requiring fewer steps than traditional dental X-rays. This makes the process easier and quicker for our dentists, which ultimately makes it a much more convenient, comfortable, less obtrusive procedure for our patients.
In yet another effort to make our patients’ visits to our offices as comfortable and stress-free as possible, at The Esthene Dental Centre all our procedure room ceilings are fitted with televisions. This allows patients to lie back in the dental chair and be distracted with a favourite show or movie while our dentists look after your oral health. This has proved a highly effective method to alleviate the tension and anxiety associated with dental visits for many of our nervous patients, especially children.
